# By Developers, For Developers…
What infrastructure and dev-tooling needs to be in place to build the next generation of dApps? What protocols are missing for the rise of the DAOs? What connective tissue needs to be in place for the next wave of DeFi? That’s the question we’ve been asking ourselves over the last 6 months, and in turn, we’re looking to you to answer it.
# Tooling + [ Vertical ]
These entries must be applied to specific, growing verticals within the Ethereum/Web3 space. We’re not looking for generic protocol roll-ups; winning submissions will come with a niche customer and use-case in mind.
We’re asking teams to build vertical-specific dev-tooling and infrastructure plays, with an eye on verticals such as:
* DeFi
* DAOs
* Contract Diligence
* Gaming
* No-Code dApps
We leave it to you to design the new conditions for global financial activity, and offer the following provocations as a place to get started:
*How might we help games provide interoperability between different crypto games?*
Currently all Ethereum games and NFTs, despite the promise of “taking NFTs with you” remain walled gardens; what needs to be in place for new games to be created utilizing existing NFTs from games? How might we let games build engaging experiences based off of previous play-history? How might crypto-gamers take their reputation with them to new games?
*How might we provide persistent user instructions and help across multi-step processes between different protocols and dApps?*
Currently onboarding on a single dApp requires users interact with multiple 2nd parties for dApps, much less providing a seamless experience across multiple protocols. How might we give developers the ability to create persistent instruction for users across multi-step processes across the DeFi ecosystem.
# Validation Requirements
“I’m the user for this” is a statement often repeated and rarely accurate…unless you’re a developer building a product around Infrastructure and Dev Tooling.
Your users are the other participants in the Hackathon! Interview makers in DeFi, DAOs, Gaming and map out the brightest pain points in building products in those industries.
As a product maker, your goal, when you show this to a potential customer is “this is amazing, can I have it ASAP?” That is, ultimately, what you’re shooting for in the Validation stage.

* Beta-product page + lead capture
* Pitch deck
