Background & Goals:
Currently the network selection can only be done via the Settings app. However the UI displays the current network in the top-left of the page, which makes swapping easily-accessible.
We want to make the above clickable, and when clicked it opens (either as a dialog, fitting in with the rest) or as a pop-over a selection where the user can select the chain.
Actions:
First off, make the area click-able. With the dialog popup the following needs to happen -
- the user needs to be able to select the chain the want to connect to - this is exactly the same functionality as in app-settings, so we want to re-use the selection component here (component sharing, not duplication)
- the user can cancel, it if they change the network, we do the following -
- save the updated settings (like in the app-settings)
- reload the page (as we do in settings as well)
The tricky bit here is to duplicate as little code as possible, either by abstracting (save/reload) or with component (e.g. the dropdown selection). There is an alternative approach to this as well, which could be preferable -
Use the general setting itself as a re-usable component, this full component (the general settings pane), can then be displayed in the modal, allowing adjustment of all as well as the settings page - where we also have access to additional things, such as types for developers and overall help.
Some tweaks with this approach - stick to showing the chain and network prefix selections only (i.e. flags passed through to new component)
